Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using Tidy Financials, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy & Security page. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
2. What we provide
Tidy Financials is a personal finance tool for tracking accounts, income, expenses, budgets, goals, and simulating money decisions. We also provide AI-generated coaching suggestions. Features and pricing may change over time, and we will communicate material changes inside the app or by email.
3. Your account and security
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for all activity that happens under your account. Use a strong password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. We support email and Google sign-in; the security of those providers is governed by their respective terms.
4. Free and paid plans
Tidy Financials offers a free plan with limited accounts and a Tidy Pro subscription with expanded features. Subscription fees are billed in advance, are non-refundable except where required by law, and renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel anytime from the Settings page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
5. Your data and content
You retain ownership of the financial information you enter. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that data so we can run the service for you. We do not sell your personal information. You may export or delete your account at any time from Settings.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Tidy Financials for illegal activity, fraud, abuse, or to harm others. Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or create legal risk for us or other users.
7. Intellectual property
The Tidy Financials name, logos, design, code, and original content are owned by Tidy Financials or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, or reuse our brand or code without written permission.
8. Financial and AI disclaimers
Tidy Financials is not a bank, broker, investment adviser, or tax professional. Projections, coaching suggestions, and simulator results are informational estimates only and should not be taken as financial advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making major financial decisions.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tidy Financials is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or, if you use the free plan, to zero.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, stop paying for a subscription, or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy & Security page.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Chicago, Illinois.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this URL, and we will update the effective date below. Continued use of Tidy Financials after changes means you accept the revised terms.
